It is with regret that we have to announce that Andy passed away late January after a very long period of illness.

 

Although not a member of the club for some time, over the last 30 or so years he showed that you can take wargaming both as irrelevant, and at the same time, far too seriously.

 

He could take the loss of half of his army with a shrug of his shoulders and a "oh well" or conversley launch the dice with great velocity across the ro...

Black Powder Rules (or does it?)

We have now been playing the Black Powder Rules from Warlord Games for a few weeks now and like some adulterous liaison; the initial explosion of enthusiasm has dissipated to be replaced by confusion, guilt and recrimination.

Rob S still gives them the thumbs up. The rules are not too complex which is ideal for a man of his intellect, plus they are fast playing which is perfect for a club night game. Bob M on the other hand has a different view: He has taken...

IMPORTANT FIASCO UPDATE!

For those of you planning to compe to Fiasco on the 31st October 2010 (and if you're not why not!?) The show is still at the armouries but at their new hospitality suite Savilles. This is not part of the main museum building but just across the way. (it's very posh). This map shows were exactly it is - MAP

Confirmation that Orc's are rubbish sailors has been recieved following thew poor performance of Rob and Andy's Orc raiders against Brian's Shroud Mages. Perhaps it had something to do with Andy 'Where have all my ships gone' tactics of ramming larger enemy ships with smaller ones without trying to kill some crew first. As it was several ships managed to kill each other and the Orc's didn't come off too badly - we lost by 3...
